Vietnamese athlete breaks Asian record at Para Games

The 2nd Asian Para Games are taking place from October 18-24 with the participation of 4,500 athletes from 41 countries.

A team of 45 Vietnamese athletes will compete in six out of 23 categories, namely track-and-field, swimming, powerlifting, badminton, table tennis and bowling. The team intends to win 6-9 gold medals and rank 15 th in the medals table.

During the first two days of the regional sporting event, Vietnamese athletes weightlifters won two gold medals, in powerlifting and two others in swimming.

As of 4:00 pm on October 20, Vietnam ranks seventh in the medal tally with five golds, 7 silvers and two bronze medals.-VNA
