Construction of a school, which is a gift from the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV), began in Donsavan village in the southern Lao province of Savannakhet on March 23.
The school will have 12 classrooms, standing in a land area of 11,600 sq. m.
The project is estimated to cost around 1.1 million USD and is expected to be completed during the year to mark the Vietnam-Laos Solidarity and Friendship Year.
At the ground-breaking ceremony, Savannakhet Deputy Governor Khamphoi Thanthachon said the school is a meaningful gift from Vietnam as it is located in the historical location which recorded a resounding victory in 1971 jointly made by Vietnamese voluntary soldiers and Lao army-men and people.-VNA
