Vietnamese choir wins glory in Germany

Vietnam’s 35-strong junior choir Sol Art brought fame to the country with a gold medal and an audience’s choice prize at the 8 th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition 2013 in Wernigerode city, Germany, from July 17-21.
Vietnam’s 35-strong junior choir Sol Art brought fame to the country with a gold medal and an audience’s choice prize at the 8 th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition 2013 in Wernigerode city, Germany, from July 17-21.

A medley of three folk songs originating from Vietnam’s northern, central and southern region won them the accolades in the category of traditional folk songs as well as the audience’s most favourite.

This year’s festival drew 44 choirs from 18 countries and territories across the globe.

Sol Art, founded in Hanoi by musician Dang Chau Anh in April 2008, has been popular in many big music events in Vietnam.-VNA
