An album called ‘Nguon Coi’ or ‘The Roots’ by Vietnamese composer Quoc Trung is a colourful mix of traditional Vietnamese and world music, with a touch of jazz added.

Local diva Thanh Lam, along with French-Vietnamese singer Nguyen Le and many other internationally famous artists, will also contribute to the album.
‘Nguon coi’ will be released later this month and distributed overseas in early 2013.
‘Khoi Nguon’ or ‘The Beginning’ will be the opening act when the album is performed in full at the Hanoi Opera House on September 1.-VNA
