Cairo (VNA) – The Cultural Day of Vietnam was held in Damiettaprovince of Egypt by the Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt and the province’s authoritieson November 15.
As part of a series of activities to celebrate the 55th anniversaryof the diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Egypt, the event featured a photoexhibition which highlights Vietnamese land, people, and traditional crafts.
Also, documents on Vietnamese culture, history, tourism as well associo-economic achievements were introduced to Egyptian friends. Visitors tothe day were especially enthusiastic about Vietnamese cuisine.
According to Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Do Hoang Long, as Vietnam is stilllittle known of among Damietta people, the event is significant to help them gaina deeper insight into the Southeast Asian country.
He hoped that similar events will be held in other Egyptian localities.
Meanwhile, Governor of Damietta province Manal Awad Mikhail said that the eventwill make significant contributions to bolster cooperation and culturalexchanges between the two countries.-VNA
