Vietnamese cyclist wins Grand-Prix Crevoisier 2018

Hanoi (VNA) - Nguyen Thi That of Vietnam grabbed a yellow jersey in acycling tournament in Switzerland on March 25.

Wearing the jersey of the International Cycling Union (UCI) and having trainedat the UCI’s centre, That competed with six other athletes from differentcountries in the Grand-Prix Crevoisier 2018.

The tournament which debuted in 2007 has been attracting professional ridersfrom Europe. The athletes cycled only one stage, in which the men toured 10rounds of 15km each, and the women cycled five rounds.

The Vietnamese cyclist brought into play her strength, which is the sprint, tofinish first in the women’s class with a timing of 1 hour and 55.35 minutes.

Zanettin Chiara from Italia’s Valcar Pbm was second.

That was among the top two athletes in international tournaments for the secondtime during her three-month training camp in Switzerland. Two weeks ago, theSoutheast Asian Games winner finished second in the 16th Grand Prix of Chambéryin France.

Her UCI coach Alejandro Gonzalez Tablas was pleased with her result, sayingthat it was a long time since he could guide such a talented athlete. That ishis golden girl, he said.

That will take part in another tournament before returning to Vietnam in July.-VNA
