Brussels (VNA)
– The Belgium-Vietnam Alliance (BVA) organised the Vietnamese Day in Brussels on September 1, aiming to introduce the land and people of Vietnam to locals.

In his opening remarks, BVA President Andries Gryffroy expressed his hope that the programme, the first of its kind held by the alliance, will start cultural activities on Vietnam to be hosted by the BVA in the future.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Belgium Vu Anh Quang said he hopes that the event will be held annually in the host country.

Apart from tea, visitors to the programme were treated to traditional Vietnamese dishes like banh cuon (steamed rice rolls), pho (noodle soup) and nem (spring rolls).

They had a chance to learn more about Vietnam through art performances, books and other tourism promotion activities.

Proceedings collected from the event will be used for social and humanitarian projects in Vietnam.-VNA
