Vietnamese e-sports players competed outstandingly in the World Cyber Games 2012 in China, considered the equivalent of the Olympics Games for e-sports athletes.
They brought home one silver medal in the Cross Fire event and ranked fourth in the World of Tanks (WoT) event.
"It is the first time Vietnam e-sport has achieved such outstanding results in such a big event. This illustrates the development of Vietnam sports in general and e-sports in particular," said Vu Trong Loi, head of Department of Sports for All in the National Sports Administration.
The five-day event attracted more than 800 athletes from 78 countries and territories.-VNA
