Vietnamese fashion designer takes Paris again

Leading Vietnamese fashion designer Minh Hanh will showcase her new collection at the Albert Kahn Museum and Gardens in Paris on September 22.

Hanoi (VNA) - Leading Vietnamese fashion designer Minh Hanh will showcase her new collection at the Albert Kahn Museum and Gardens in Paris on September 22. 

Hanh says her aim is to allow French audience to feel the sensation of breathing through a Vietnamese mountain forest. The collection highlights brocade patterns through an array of handmade embroidery.

Hanh also invited traditional weavers Vang Thi Mai of the Mong ethnic group, and Ho Thi Hop, from the Co Tu ethnic groups to demonstrate classic Vietnamese techniques. 

Miss Vietnam 2010 Ngoc Han will walk the catwalk, along with other Vietnamese and French models.

The Albert Kahn Museum was built in the 18th century, featuring famous gardens in French and Japanese design. Only the Hermes fashion brand has hosted shows at the museum to date.

Hanh was presented the Knight of Arts and Literature title by the French Government in 2006 for her contribution to promoting French-Vietnamese cultural co-operation, particularly in the world of fashion.

She is the first Vietnamese designer to receive the title.-VNA
