Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnam won its second gold at the first World Youth Martial ArtsMasterships, which closed in Jincheon-County, Chungcheongbuk-do province, theRepublic of Korea (RoK), on November 7.
Vietnamese athletescompeted only in the kurash competition.
They pocketed one gold,one silver and one bronze in kurash on the last day of the five-daycompetition.
Do Thu Ha triumphed inthe women’s U52kg category after beating Yeh Lian of Chinese Taipei in thefinal match.
Her teammate, Nguyen HaiBa, lost to Choi Intae of the hosts in the men’s U81kg event to take a silver.
Earlier, Nguyen Chau HoangLan shared the third place with Li Zhi-Yong of Chinese Taipei in the men’sover-90kg class.
On November 5,Vietnamese martial artists claimed a gold in the women’s over-70kg pool by DoThi Hoai Uyen, a silver in the men’s U60kg by Le Cong Hoang Hai and two bronzesin the men’s U66kg and U73kg.
Vietnam finished ninthwith two golds, two silvers and three bronzes.
The RoK took thetop spot, winning 58 golds, followed by the Philippines and Nepal. -VNA
