A delegation from Communist Review, a powerful media outlet controlled by the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), made a three-day working visit to Italy, ending on July 16.
The delegation, led by Editor-in-Chief Vu Van Phuc met key Italian communist figures in an effort to build their relationship with Vietnam. They held working sessions with leaders of the Party of Italian Communists (PdCI) and the Italian Communist Refoundation Party.
During the sessions, Phuc introduced the hosts of the operations of the CPV and its publications, especially the magazine he manages. He highlighted SolidNet, a website for the international parties of communists and workers, run by the Communist Party of Greece.
Phuc expressed his hope that the leaders of the two Italian parties will use the website on a regular basis, therefore gaining a better understanding of the CPV as well as the land and people of Vietnam, and boosting ties between all sides. He also outlined his wish for Communist Review to make more exchanges with Marx 21, the magazine published by the PdCI.
Maurizio Musolino, head of the PdCI Commission for External Relations, warmly welcomed the delegation to visit Italy, calling it a great honour of his party. He declared that the PdCI wants to uphold and develop the solidarity, friendship and cooperation with the Vietnamese party.
The head of the Italian party’s Economic Commission, Luigi Maino, hailed the significant achievements that Vietnam has recorded, especially in the economic sphere, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, adding that the success serves as a source of encouragement for Italian communists.
Maino said that he hopes to learn from Vietnam about how to develop a socialism-oriented market economy.
Meanwhile, Italian Communist Refoundation Party Secretary General Paolo Ferrero, freshly back from a visit to Vietnam, shared his vision for the development of his party and briefed the guests on its publications.
The same day, Phuc and his entourage left for a working visit to the United Kingdom.-VNA
