Vietnamese movie wins prize at Oxford int’l short film festival

Vietnamese film “Infill and Full set” by Dao Duc Hai won the Best UK Drama award of the recent 2019 Oxford International Short Film Festival (OXISFF).

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese film “Infill and Full set” by Dao Duc Hai won theBest UK Drama award of the recent 2019 Oxford International Short Film Festival(OXISFF).

ActressNha Phuong also received the Best Lead Actress award.

Previously,the film earned four nominations of the (OXISFF), including Best Film, BestLead Actress, Best Music Score, and Best UK Drama.

The film is the first short Phuong has produced.The 14-minute film is about a Vietnamese woman who immigrates to Britainillegally. Pregnant and doesn’t know which way to turn, she has to use falseidentification to try to get employed at a nail salon. But unfortunately, onher first test day her services get her into trouble.

Infill and Full set was made by director Dao DucHai as a project for his master’s degree in art film graduation from thefaculty of arts and creative industries, Middlesex University in London.

The shortmovie was screened at nearly 20 international film festivals. -VNA

The standout achievement came in the Sanda (combat) events, where Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hien claimed gold medals after impressive victories over opponents from China and Hong Kong (China), respectively. Thu Thuy edged out Zhang Xiaoyu in the 60kg category with a 2-1 win, while Ngoc Hien dominated her 56kg bout 2-0.
