Vietnamese-origin artists in the UK are sharing their memories and experiences about the homeland through an ongoing exhibition titled “No place like home” at the Museum of the Home in Hackney district in East London.

London (VNA) – Vietnamese-origin artists in the UKare sharing their memories and experiences about the homeland through anongoing exhibition titled “No place like home” at the Museum of the Home inHackney district in East London.

Opened on April 19, the exhibition is the continuation ofVietnamese-origin artists’ journey to explore their homeland that started in2022.

A large number of visitors fromdifferent groups and ages, especially young Vietnamese, have come to the event.

On display are items reflecting typical things, landscapes,and images of the past, traditional meals that connect family generations, and traditionalfoods deeply intertwined with the memory of Vietnam and the Vietnamese identity thatparents want to pass down to future generations in the places they havesettled down.

Visitors are greeted by a striking urbanlandscape installation constructed from Vietnamese plastic stools, highlightingthe psychogeography of migrant populations.

The main room showcases object-based works on alow white table, inviting viewers to sit on bamboo carpets to engage with theworks.

A space featuring a traditional-style altar of Vietnamesepeople also shows visitors a typical image of the country.

The exhibition also includes many workshops, tea parties, andfood sharing and will last through July 11./.
