Vietnamese paintings on display in Belgium

An exhibition of Vietnamese pictures collected by G. Ponsanh, a Belgian Vietnam lover, has opened at the University of Liege in Liege city, Belgium, and will run until July 10.
An exhibition of Vietnamese pictures collected by G. Ponsanh, a Belgian Vietnam lover, has opened at the University of Liege in Liege city, Belgium, and will run until July 10.

The collection on display features 140 paintings by famous Vietnamese painters like Bui Xuan Phai, Pham Van Mui, Pham Van Don, Nguyen Tu Nghiem, Tran Van Can and Nguyen Tien Chung.

Graduated at the Department of Law, University of Liege in 1972, G. Ponsanh has a great passion for painting. He used to work for the Belgian Embassy in Hanoi and started to study and collect art pieces of Vietnam from 1965 till 1985.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, he underlined that the collection has been built up with all affection for Vietnam and its art and that it was donated to the University of Liege./.
