Vietnamese photographer wins US’ Master Cup award

Hanoi (VNA) – Viet Van, a reporter of Lao Dong (Labour)Newspaper won the Outstanding Achievement award in the still life category ofthe US’s Photography Master Cup contest for his work entitled “Chiec mam dongva hai qua trung” (the copper tray and two eggs).

The copper tray in the photo was a souvenir Viet’s grandmother presentedto his mother during war time.

Second prize in the category went to Luca Izzo from France and the thirdprize was presented to Peter Voss from Germany.

With a jury of recognised experts from various countries such asBelgium, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany and the UK, the Master Cup isthe industry’s most important photographic event for colour photography.

Nominees vie for 120 awards representing the best work of the year.

This is the fifth time Viet Van has won an award of the Master Cup since2009, with three first prizes and two Honourable Mentions.

Viet Van has won more than 60 international prizes throughout hiscareer, including eight first prizes in France, the UK, the US and Australia.-VNA
