Vietnam’s top marksman Hoang Xuan Vinh had a successful day on May 15 and bagged a bronze medal in men’s 50m pistol event at the underway ISSF Rifle and Pistol World Cup in Fort Benning, US.
Vinh was competing with 67 top world shooters at the event. He is the only one among the three Vietnamese shooters to enter the final round.
In the final round, Vinh was unable to defeat his two rivals, one of whom triumphed at the World Cup 2014 and the other won gold medal in 10m slow-fire pistol event at the earlier World Cup in April this year in the Republic of Korea.
After finishing their competition at the World Cup in the US on May 19, the Vietnamese shooters team will leave for Singapore for the 28th SEA Games.-VNA
