Vietnamese shooters win gold at Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship 2024

Vietnam’s Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy won the gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team category of the Asian Rifle/Pistol Championship 2024 which is being held in Indonesia, the Vietnamese shooting team’s training board announced on January 9.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam’s Trinh Thu Vinh and Pham Quang Huy won thegold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team category of the Asian Rifle/PistolChampionship 2024 which is being held in Indonesia, the Vietnamese shootingteam’s training board announced on January 9.

Meanwhile, the silver medal went to India’sArjun Cheema and Rhythm Sangwan.

The tournament, organised from January5-18, is considered a qualifying round of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, with only individual events taken into account to get tickets to the Games.

On January 8, shooter Pham Quang Huycompeted unsuccessfully in the men's 10m air pistol event. Therefore, he stillcould not get a ticket to the Games, and must pin hope on the next qualifyinground of the 2024 NRA World Shooting Championship scheduled to take place in April.

His teammate Trinh Thu Vinh has already wona ticket to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games./.
