Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese striker Nguyen Tien Linh has been listed amongthe 25 nominees for the Best Footballer in Asia 2022 award organised by TitanSports of China.
Striker Nguyen Tien Linh has been nominated for the BestFootballer in Asia award for the second consecutive year, alongside 24 otherplayers who had great performances last year.
The list of 25 nominees also includes many superstars such asSon Heung-min (the Republic of Korea – Tottenham), Kaoru Mitota (Japan – Brighton), MehdiTaremi (Iran – Porto) or Takehiro Tomiyasu (Japan – Arsenal), among others.
Linh is one of the three Southeast Asian players on thelist, along with Thailand's defender Theerathon Bunmathan (Buriram United) andSingaporean striker Ikhsan Fandi (BG Pathum United).
There are also Asian superstars on the list such as the Republic of Korea’s SonHeung-min (Tottenham Hotspur), Japanese winger Kaoru Mitoma (Brighton & HoveAlbion), Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi (FC Porto) and Japanese defender TakehiroTomiyasu (Arsenal)./.
Winners of 2020 Golden Ball award announced
Forward and captain Nguyen Van Quyet of Hanoi FC and striker Cu Thi Huynh Nhu of HCM City Club won the Golden Ball awards for player of the year during an awards ceremony held in HCM City on January 12.
