Vietnamese team defeats Iran’s club at Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship

The women’s national volleyball team, named Sport Center I, had a 3-2 win over Iran’s Paykan Club in their match at the ongoing 2023 Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship, held in the northern province of Vinh Phuc on April 25 evening.

Vinh Phuc (VNA) – The women’s national volleyball team, named SportCenter I, had a 3-2 win over Iran’s Paykan Club in their match at the ongoing 2023Asian Women’s Club Volleyball Championship, held in the northern province ofVinh Phuc on April 25 evening.

The Championship, whichkicked off earlier the same day, brings together nine teams from host Vietnam, Iran,Japan, Taiwan (China), Kazakhstan, Thailand, China, Mongolia, and Hong Kong(China).

Participating teams are divided into two groups and compete in a round-robinformat. Based on the results of the group stage, the teams will compete for thefirst to fourth and from fifth to ninth places.

Apart from the first, second and third prizes for teams, theorganising board will honour outstanding players with eight titles. Besides,the winning team will represent Asia at the 2023 World Club VolleyballChampionship in China.

The championship, which will last to May 2, is beingbroadcast live on VTVcab's ON Sports News, ON Sports, and ON Plus channels.

The Vietnamese team will have its next match against HisamitsuSprings of Japan, on April 27 evening./.

Vietnam's 22-match unbeaten run draws praise from RoK media

Under the tournament format, the semifinals and final will be played over two legs. Vietnam will travel to Malaysia for the first leg on August 16 before hosting the second leg on August 19. Should Vietnam overcome Malaysia, they will meet the winner of the other semifinal between Thailand and Singapore in the final.
