Thai agencies have identified 12 Vietnamese people who were killed on June 2 in a catastrophic road accident in the country.
The victims have been named as Vu Van Hanh, Dinh Quang Trung, Tran Thi Yen, Dang Thi Huong, Bui Hong Minh, Le Hoai Son, Tran Thi Ngoc, Tran Van Cuong, Tran Van Anh, Hoang Van Thien, Nguyen Van Thuat and Tran Xuan Quyen.
Three other Vietnamese people were seriously injured in the accident in the northeastern province of Chaiyaphum, one of whom is in critical condition.
The accident happened when the passenger van carrying them inexplicably careered into a truck and burst into flames.
The van was among the four chartered to take a visiting group of Vietnamese and three Thai people from Bangkok to the northeastern province of Nong Bua Lam Phu.
After learning about the accident, the Vietnam Consulate General in Khon Kaen province sent representatives to the site to support survivors and the families of the dead.-VNA
