Vietnam’s agriculture, aquaculture, forestry exports up 10.4 percent

The respective figures were 5.94 billion USD, 2.83 billion USD and 2.46 billion USD for agriculture, aquaculture and forestry in the five month review, or a year-on-year increase of 5.1 percent, 25 percent and 13.8 percent.

154,000 tonnes of coffee were sold in May for 336 million USD, bringing five-month export volume to 966,000 tonnes (up 36.7 percent) for a value of 1.96 billion USD (up 29 percent).

The nation gained 645 million USD from 92,000 tonnes of peppercorn, up 33.6 percent in volume and up 42.3 percent in value.

The export of cashews saw the growth rate of 10.8 percent and 11.5 percent in terms of volume and value. Over the past five months, 98,000 tonnes of cashews were exported, worth 618 million USD.

The export turnover of rice in five months attained 1.19 billion USD from 2.65 million tonnes.-VNA
