The likely gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate of 6.8 percent and improved business climate are among the highlights of Vietnam’s economy in 2018, experts said.

Vietnam aims to have 1 million businesses by 2020, and to reach this lofty goal, more timely solutions are needed, according to Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung.

Amid the complex world situation, Vietnam needs to push ahead with reforming policies and regulations to keep up with the development pace of the global economy, said Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
