Over 100 businesses in the central provinces of Da Nang and Quang Nam as well as local authorities gathered at a workshop in Da Nang city on July 24 to seek trade and investment opportunities in South Africa.

Speaking at the workshop, South African Ambassador to Vietnam Ratubatsi Super Moloi expressed his hope that his country will become a potential investment partner for Vietnamese businesses.

The ambassador also dealt with challenges in terms of the two-way trade structure, saying that the South Africa imports finished products while Vietnamese exports are mainly raw materials, which is why Vietnam occupies a modest place in the latter’s market.

First Secretary (Political) at the South African Embassy in Vietnam Calvin Tshidavhu spoke about his country, including its economy, industries and infrastructure.

Trade between Vietnam and the South Africa reached 48 million USD last year. Vietnam exported goods worth 24 million USD and which equalled its imports from the African country./.
