The displayed items are selected from a huge collection of374 works by 25 painters. The collection was hand-picked and preserved by twoJapanese collectors – Ito Toyochiki and Ito Tamiko – over the last 20years.
Pictures on display at the “Huoei Collection Special: Modern Artof Vietnam” exhibition received wide +commendations from RoK art critics fortheir quality, creativity and artistic inspirations.
The works, whichinclude paintings by big names like Duong Bich Lien, Nguyen Gia Tri and NguyenSang, are said to be a harmonious combination of Vietnam ’s traditional art andmodern graphic techniques from Western countries, and thus having a special rolein the modern art of Asia .
Addressing the opening ceremony, the charged'affaire of the Vietnamese Embassy Hoang Xuan Hai praised the efforts of thetwo Japanese collectors, who have rendered love and respect for Vietnam ’spainting and helped in promoting Vietnam ’s culture and art among Japanese andRoK audiences.
Hai emphasised that the displayed works not only reflectthe life and spirit of people of Vietnam through different stages in itshistory, but also send a strong message for peace, friendship andcooperation.
The exhibition was jointly organised by organisations andindividuals of Vietnam , Japan and the RoK./.
