Vietnam’s culture spotlighted in Cambodia

The fourth Vietnam Culture Week, launched at Carktomuk Theater in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on September 25, helps strengthen understanding and solidarity between the Vietnamese and Cambodian peoples.

The event, held by the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, marked the 45 th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries and the Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Year 2012.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Cambodian Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Him Chem and his Vietnamese counterpart Hoang Tuan Anh stressed that the event will contribute to further developing the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

During the week, folk songs and dances featuring Vietnamese characteristics will be performed.

Highlights of the seven-day long event are a photo exhibition on Vietnam's land and people and another on handicraft and ceramic products made by Vietnamese traditional craft villages.

In the framework of the event, the Round Circus Complex, a gift from Vietnam to Cambodia, will be inaugurated./.
