Vietnam’s first dairy farm receives GlobalGAP certificate

A dairy farm in the central province of Nghe An on July 18 was awarded with the Global Good Agricultural Practices (GlobalGAP) certificate, the first in Vietnam and Southeast Asia and the third in Asia to receive the recognition.
A dairy farm in the central province of Nghe An on July 18 was awarded with the Global Good Agricultural Practices (GlobalGAP) certificate, the first in Vietnam and Southeast Asia and the third in Asia to receive the recognition.

GlobalGAP specifies requirements for agricultural production to meet international standards of farm produce and protect the environment.

The farm, run by the Vietnam Dairy Cow Company, a subsidiary of the Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk), was certified eight months after it started implementing GlobalGAP standards in September 2013.

Vinamilk is running five dairy farms nationwide, all of which have been granted the ISO 9001:2008 certificate by Bureau Veritas France .

The company plans to open four more farms from now to 2015.-VNA
