Tokyo, (VNA) – Vietnam’s fresh lychees have hit theshelves of supermarkets in Kagoshima Prefecture of Japan for the first time, aspart of a “Vietnam’s goods” week in the Kagoshima AEON Mall from June 4 to June6.
The information along with images of Vietnamese lychees atAEON was shared by Kagoshima governor Koichi Shiota with Vietnamese Ambassadorto Japan Vu Hong Nam at their online working session on June 4.
At the working session, the two sides agreed on ways tofurther enhance bilateral economic and trade cooperation, including facilitatingthe export of Vietnamese goods to Kagoshima and vice versa.
Located in the south of Kyushu island, Kagoshima has anadvanced agriculture which ranks fourth in Japan, with strength in animalhusbandry and cultivation. The prefecture’s main industries are light industry andprocessing. The locality wants to recruit more Vietnamese workers for itsagricultural and processing sectors.
In another related event, according to Vietnam Trade Officein Japan, over 300 stores and supermarkets of AEON across Japan will hold aweek of “Vietnam’s goods” from June 25 to June 27. This is an annual eventattracting both the Vietnamese community in Japan as well as locals.
The Vietnamese embassy and the Trade Office are working withAEON Mall Co., Ltd on the promotion of Vietnamese goods during the event, witha focus on lychee and typical farm produce./.
