Vietnam's national team to gather in early August in preparation for World Cup qualifiers

Hanoi (VNA) - Headcoach Park Hang-seo has proposed a list of 31 players as part of the plan toprepare for the FIFA 2022 World Cup final qualifiers, said the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).

Due to the highly competitiveness of the 2022 WorldCup qualifiers, Korean coach Park continues to pick players who have a lot ofexperience in international tournaments. The called players include goalkeeper Bui TanTruong; defenders Que Ngoc Hai, Bui Tien Dung, Do Duy Manh, NguyenTrong Hoang; midfielders Nguyen Quang Hai, Luong Xuan Truong, Nguyen Tuan Anh, Phan VanDuc, Nguyen Hoang Duc; strikers Nguyen Van Toan and Nguyen Tien Linh.

Promising young players such as defenders Le Van Xuan andNguyen Thanh Binh, and midfielder Ly Cong Hoang Anh will also partake in thelineup.

New faces such as defender Truong Van Thiet, midfielder Le Tien Anh and striker Pham Tuan Hai are also given a chance to join the team.

As the COVID-19 pandemic has been developing complicatedly, theremaining rounds of Vietnam's professional tournaments have still been postponed so there is an adjustment in the schedule of the gathering of the national team. Accordingly, the squad will gather in Hanoi for training from August 5.

Vietnam will compete in group B of the finalWorld Cup qualifying round with Japan, Saudi Arabia, Australia, China and Oman.The "Golden Dragons" will begin the campaign with an away match against Saudi Arabia onSeptember 2, followed by a match against Australia at Hanoi-based My Dinh National Stadium five days later./.
