Vietnam’s U23 team receives rewards for final march berth

After securing a berth in the final of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23 Championship after beating Qatar, an Asian powerhouse, on January 23, Vietnam’s U23 received a number of rewards from organisations and individuals.

Hanoi (VNA) – After securing a berth in the final of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U23Championship after beating Qatar, an Asian powerhouse, on January 23, Vietnam’s U23 received a number of rewardsfrom organisations and individuals.

Ministerof Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien congratulated and presented areward of two billion VND (about 88,030 USD) to the squad.

Additionally,Vietnam’s U23 received one billion VND (44,022 USD) from the FLC Group.Goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung, also a player of the FLC Thanh Hoa football club,received 500 million VND (22,011 USD).

Inaddition, the team has received rewards from various organisations andindividuals, including the Vietnam Television (500 million VND), the CommercialBank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam-Vietcombank (one billion VND), the VietnamProfessional Football company (one billion VND), and acting President of the HoChi Minh City Football Club Le Cong Vinh (500 million VND), among others.

Rightafter U23 Vietnam’s impressive victory, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuccongratulated head coach Park Hang Seo and the team.

Inhis phone call to Secretary General of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) LeHoai Anh, who is now in China, PM Phuc commended the indefatigable spirit of the Vietnamese players.

Heaffirmed that the historic victory was a significant event of the country andwent into its football history, bringing a great pride to domestic fans.

ThePM assigned Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien toappropriately commend and reward head coach Park Hang Seo and his players.

Vietnambecame the first Southeast Asian country to enter the final of the AFC U23championship after beating Qatar 4-3 in the penalty shootout on January 23 inChina.
