The Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation (Vinacomin) aims to produce 38 million tonnes of coal in 2015, generating 57 trillion VND (2.7 billion USD).
The figures were revealed by Deputy General Director Nguyen Van Bien at a conference on December 23 in northern Quang Ninh province on how to implement the group’s business plans next year.
In order to achieve the target, the group will boost its production from the beginning of the year to fully meet domestic demand while stockpiling coal at a proper amount.
It will apply advanced technologies to increase production capacity, productivity and efficiency while actively importing coal and then exploiting the resource aboard to feed power projects.
In 2014, Vinacomin’s coal production is expected to hit 35 million tonnes, with 7.5 million tonnes being exported.-VNA
