Hanoi (VNA) – Hanoi’s Old Quarter will offer opportunities to visitors to experience Vietnamese traditional Lunar New Year (Tet) with an array of cultural activities from January 25 to February 24.
The Tet celebration of a traditional Hanoian family will be demonstrated at Kim Ngan communal house on 42-44 Hang Bac Street. There, visitors have deeper insight into how a meal with traditional dishes for the Giao Thua (New Year Eve) is prepared.
Meanwhile, the Heritage House on 87 Ma May Street will display photos of Tet celebrations in the past as well as introduce Vietnamese bonsai and tea culture.
An exhibition of Hang Trong, Dong Ho and Kim Hoang folk paintings will be held at the Old Quarter Heritage Information Centre on 28 Hang Buom Street. The Cultural Exchange Centre on 50 Dao Duy Tu Street will host an exhibition on Do paper and Huong Canh pottery”.
The Old Quarter Management Board said decoration and lighting will be used on Phung Hung Mural Street and the flower market on Hang Luoc Street.-VNA
