Representatives from businesses of Vietnam and Argentina gathered in Hanoi on Feb. 20 for the first connectivity and technology forum between the two countries.
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Nghiem Vu Khai said he hopes through the forum, the two sides will discuss and share experience in scientific and technological research and application, opening more opportunities for bilateral cooperation as well as creating a breakthrough in the development of science and technology between Vietnam and Argentina .
In the field, Vietnam and Argentina signed a cooperative agreement on use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes, he said, adding that the two countries exchanged high-ranking delegations and expertise in atomic energy, biotechnology and agriculture.
Argentine Ambassador to Vietnam Alberto Jaime Kaminker highly valued hosting the event in order to boost cooperation in science and technology between the two countries as well as offer new opportunities for the two countries’ firms.
The Argentine side is interested in and wants to cooperate with Vietnam in agriculture, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, he said.
At the event, participants shared experience and opportunities for cooperation in research and transfer of technology, the study of technology in agriculture, pharmaceuticals and medical equipment, investment and trade, international cooperation and training.-VNA
