The VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange slid down 0.17 percent to end the day at 475.59 points.
Market breadth was neutral on the southern bourse with 92 stocks advancing, 87 tumbling, 83 closing unchanged and 44 stocks remaining untraded.
Many blue chip stocks were unmoved as foreign and domestic investors mainly stayed away, pushing down the market.

The VN30-Index, market cap-weighted index of 30 stocks with the highest market value and liquidity on the exchange, slumped 0.74 points, or 0.14 percent to close at 531.17 points.
The market volume was little changed from a day earlier, down 30 percent with 32.6 million shares and fund certificates worth 455 billion VND traded.
FLC Group (FLC) was the most active yesterday, trading 3.5 million shares, it rallied 6.7 percent to end at 4,800 VND.
On the Hanoi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index slid to 60.02 with a loss of 0.27 percent, as poor liquidity eroded risk appetites in the previous two days. Investors turned more precious with local shares as the market lacked boosting news and liquidity continued to slump.
The HNX 30 Index – the tracker of top 30 stocks calculated based on free floating adjusted market capitalisation – dropped 0.07 point to end at 109.54.
The market breadth was neutral on the northern exchange. Among index members, 74 stocks rose, 76 tumbled, 75 closed unmoved, and 161 were untraded.
The volume was as low as 14.4 million shares worth 95 billion VND, down 10 percent in volume and 10 percent in value from a day earlier. Sai Gon Ha Noi Bank (SHB), the most active with 1.5 million shares traded, rallied 1.6 percent to end at 6,500 VND per share.-VNA
