VN, Laos boost cooperation in social sciences

OnAug. 18, the delegation paid a courtesy visit to Lao Vice StatePresident Bounnhang Volachit, briefing the host about the results oftheir working session with the Laos National Institute of SocialSciences.

Dr. Thang informed Vice President Bounnhang Volachitthat the two institutes will strengthen comprehensive cooperation toimprove capacity of scientists in research of theory and reviewrealities to contribute to national construction.

Vice PresidentBounnhang Volachit stressed that Laos and Vietnam are in theprocess of renewal and needs an appraisal of their current situations toassist in the continued development of the countries.

He supported achievements recorded by the two institutes and expressedhis hope that they would engage in projects with a strong practicalfocus, to contribute to developing the special friendship andcomprehensive cooperation between the two countries.

Earlier, Dr.Thang had a working session with Dr. Khampheuy Panmalaythong, Directorof the Laos National Institute of Social Sciences.

The two sidesexpressed their joy at results of past cooperation in projects onnational renewal, the impacts of globalisation and compilation of aVietnamese-Lao dictionary.

The two institutes planned to continueresearch, cooperation and exchange of information and experience inpublishing. They will organise seminars in order to hold annual socialsciences conferences among Vietnam , Laos and Cambodia , tocontribute to developing the Mekong sub-region strongly./.

Network of overseas Vietnamese nuclear energy experts makes debut

The network currently brings together nearly 100 scientists and experts working at key institutions in this sector such as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), EDF, Framatome, ANDRA, CEA, and many other leading organisations. They have directly participated in the design and construction of numerous EPR nuclear power plants, including Olkiluoto 3 (Finland), Flamanville 3 (France), and Taishan 1&2 (China).

NA adopts resolution in support of private sector

According to the resolution, each enterprise, household business, or individual business must not be inspected more than once a year, except in cases where clear signs of violations are found.
