Vietnam defeated Chinese Taipei in the last match of the Asia and Oceania qualifying zone for the Women’s Volleyball World Championships in Komaki City , Japan on September 8.
The Vietnamese team won 25-17, 25-10, 25-21, taking their second victory in Pool A and earning six points.
The result helped them rank third behind host Japan (12 points), and Thailand (9 points), but it was not enough to grant them passage to the finals.
The championship features 24 teams. Japan and Thailand have now qualified, while host Italy received automatic qualification. The remaining 21 places are still up for grabs.-VNA
