Hanoi (VNA) – Vu Huy Hoang was stripped of the title as former Minister ofIndustry and Trade in the 2011-2016 tenure due to his violations in personnelwork.

Thedisciplinary measure was written in the Prime Minister’s Decision No.106/QD-TTgdated January 24.

The same day, the PM signed Decision No. 107/QD-TTg, giving the disciplinarymeasure of warning against Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ho Thi Kim Thoafor similar infringements in the field.

In November 2016, the Party Central Committee’s Secretary took disciplinaryactions against Hoang, dismissing him from the position as Secretary of theParty Delegation during the time. 

According to the conclusions of the Central Committee’s Inspection Commission,Vu Huy Hoang personally showed a lack of good example and had self-interestedbehaviour when receiving and appointing his son Vu Quang Hai as an inspector ofthe Vietnam National Tobacco Corporation (Vinataba), and allowing him to jointhe Board of Directors and take the position of Deputy General Director of theSaigon Beer-Alcohol-Beverage Company (Sabeco). 

Hoang also violated the Party Central Committee’s regulations on not-to-dos byParty members, the Law on Corruption Prevention and Control, and theSecretariat’s regulations on officials and Party members’ responsibility forshowing good examples.  

He did not follow the Party and State law on principles, procedures andcriteria in personnel work while incorrectly directing and implementing theworking regulations of the Party Delegation in presenting the Hero of Labourtitle to the PVC and rewarding the third-class Labour Order to Dang Vu Ngoan,rector of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Food Industry. 

He also loosened examination of some of the ministry's units, allowing them tobreak regulations on personnel recruitment, reception, evaluation, andappointment. 
He was also found guilty of violating the Party and State’s regulations on receptionand appointment of Trinh Xuan Thanh as Deputy Chief of Office and Head ofRepresentative Office of the Ministry in Da Nang, and Chief of Office of theParty Delegation to the Ministry. 

Hoang also infringed principles, process, procedures and criteria when it cameto personnel appraisal, planning, and approval of deputy minister post forThanh and several other individuals. 

The violations and shortcomings of the Party Delegation to the Ministry ofIndustry and Trade and Hoang have caused serious consequences, hurting theprestige of the Party, State, the ministry and himself, while sparking graveconcern for the public.-VNA
