Vung Vieng fishing village captivates foreign tourists

Vung Vieng, a small fishing village in Ha Long Bay, is a favorite among foreign tourists. Since the beginning of the year, the village has welcomed over 39,000 visitors, with more than 95% being international travelers.

Recognized by international travel magazines as one of the world's most beautiful fishing villages, Vung Vieng is known for its tranquility and stunning setting among the limestone peaks of the bay.

Once home to over 30 households that had lived there for generations, the village underwent a transformation in 2014 when the local government helped the residents relocate to the mainland for a more stable life.

Today, Vung Vieng has about 30 floating houses, but no permanent residents. However, fishermen still visit daily to fish, farm seafood, and cater to tourists. Vung Vieng retains its pristine and peaceful charm.

Visitors can fish and harvest seafood with local fishermen, swim in the crystal-clear waters, navigate through majestic cliffs, and marvel at a towering stone arch.

After exploring Vung Vieng, visitors can continue their journey to the nearby Tung Sau area, a secluded bay with calm waters and Ha Long Bay's unique ecosystems. Here, they can learn about the pearl production process, from cultivation to harvest./.
