2010 world youth champion Thach Kim Tuan has bagged three silver medals in the men's 56kg weight category at the ongoing 2013 Asian Weightlifting Championships in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Tuan finished second in both snatch and clean and jerk disciplines with respective lifts of 125kg and 156kg.
He also took another silver with a total lift of 281kg, 5kg below the gold medalists Om Yun Chol from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, who is also defending Olympic champion.
Vietnam's biggest hope Tran Le Quoc Toan won just two bronze medals with a 155kg clean and jerk lift and a 275kg total lift in the same weight category.
Vietnamese female weightlifters also brought home two silver medals (107kg clean and jerk and 187kg total lifts) by Do Thi Thuy in the women's 53kg weight class and three bronzes (78kg snatch, 96kg clean and jerk and 174kg total lifts) by Do Thi Thu Hoai in the 48kg weight category.-VNA
