World-class chefs to gather at Da Nang Int’l Food Festival

World-class chefs from Germany, Mexico, Australia, India, China, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Sweden, the US, Turkey, Greek, Malaysia, and Singapore will join the first Da Nang International Food Festival 2019 in the central city of Da Nang from June 2-6.

Da Nang (VNA) –World-class chefs from Germany,Mexico, Australia, India, China, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Sweden, the US, Turkey,Greek, Malaysia, and Singapore will join the first Da Nang International FoodFestival 2019 in the central city of Da Nang from June 2-6.

Deputy Director of the municipal Tourism Department NguyenXuan Binh said on May 9 that the event’s theme will offer a “Taste of Homeland”and is expected to draw many domestic and international tourists.

In particular, President of the World Association of Chefs’Societies Thomas Andeas Gugler will choose an outstanding chef representingeach nation to demonstrate cooking skills each night.

A street art show, food carnival, events to share cookingexperience with students of tourism, and the presentation of gifts to childrenat the Support Centre for Agent Orange Victims are also scheduled as part ofthe event.

Gugler said global culinary experts speak highly ofVietnamese cuisine, and believed that the event will boost its image as a culinary,cultural, and tourism exchange destination.

Visitors to the event will have the chance to taste food typicalof Vietnam’s central region cooked by famous chefs from Da Nang and the VietnamChefs’ Association. –VNA
