World Windsurfing Championship held in Hoi An

Nearly 100 competitors from 30 countries and territories will race in the World Windsurfing Championship at An Bang beach in Hoi An city, the central province of Quang Nam from June 12 to 15.

Quang Nam (VNA) - Nearly 100 competitors from 30 countries andterritories will race in the World Windsurfing Championship at An Bang beach inHoi An city, the central province of Quang Nam from June 12 to 15.

According to Nguyen Hai Duong, head of the canoeing section of the NationalSports Administration, it’s the first time a world-level windsurfing race hasbeen held in Vietnam.

On the same occasion, the Vietnam Open Sailing Boat and the National CanoeingClubs Championship will take place at Phu Ninh Lake. 

Director of the provincial Culture, Sports and Tourism Department Dinh Hai saidAn Bang beach, 5km from Hoi An city, is an ideal rendezvous for the beach seasonand beach sport activities.-VNA

Vietnamese puppetry seeks renewal amid preservation challenges

People’s Artist Nguyen Hoang Tuan, Chairman of the Hanoi Theatre Association, noted that while northern Vietnam had 27 puppetry guilds in 1986, only 14 remain today. Many traditional plays and original scripts have been lost, hurting restoration and preservation efforts.

By 2030, the project targets the establishment of shared digital platforms across 100% of cultural sectors. All digitised cultural heritage will be standardised under the national data framework and shared in accordance with regulations, while 80% of public digital heritage assets are expected to receive digital identifiers to clarify ownership and management, encouraging organisations and individuals to do the same and support market development.
