An official from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised the hope of giving technical assistance to and exchanging experience with Vietnam about macroeconomic management in the near future.

John Nelmes, who is leading an IMF delegation to visit Vietnam, expressed the wish while meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh in Hanoi on June 10.

He said Vietnam is enjoying growth at a reasonable level and increasing foreign exchange reserves, while its inflation has seen a considerable fall.

The Vietnamese Government appreciates the fund’s advice in the field and pledges to continue curbing inflation, stabilising the macro economy and accelerating economic restructuring, Deputy PM Ninh said.-VNA
