Vietnam-China People’s Friendship festival kicks off

Addressing the function, Chairman of the Vietnam-China Friendship Association, Nguyen Xuan Thang, affirmed that the friendship between the two countries is a valuable asset and good tradition.

The increase of exchanges, mutual understanding and trust between the two nations is an indispensable factor in the development of each country and beneficial to the long-term interest of the people, he stressed.

For his part, head of the China-Vietnam Friendship Association, Wang Jinshan, said that in recent years friendship associations of the two countries have organised a series of people-to-people activities to increase the two countries’ friendship.

He also expressed his belief that the festival will further contribute to deepening mutual trust and cooperation between the two peoples and promote the comprehensive strategic cooperation partnership between Vietnam and China .

Host and guest agreed that the festival will educate the youth of both countries on the Vietnam-China friendship.

Earlier the same day, the head of the China-ASEAN Association received the Vietnamese delegation.

The festival will wrap up on November 19.

Liuzhou, the second largest city in Guangxi province is where President Ho Chi Minh engaged in revolutionary activities from 1942 until 1944, and worked with Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai in 1954.-VNA
