Four outstanding collectives and 12 individuals were presented the 11th KOVA Awards at a ceremony held in Hanoi on November 3.
Addressing the ceremony, Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan, who is also Chairwoman of the KOVA Awards Committee, highly valued the contributions made by the awardees to the country in the fields of scientific research, labour, production and study.
She expressed her hope that the prize winners will exert more efforts to further develop the country.
On this occasion, the committee also presented scholarships to 116 outstanding poor students.
Established in 2002, the awards are given to poor but brilliant students, people who actively involve in social, humanitarian and charitable activities, as well as scientists whose research has been effectively applied into reality and contributed to socio-economic development.-VNA
