12th NA Standing Committee meeting concludes

The 12th session of the 13th National Assembly’s Standing Committee concluded on October 18 after working for seven days.
The 12th session of the 13th National Assembly’s Standing Committee, presided over by NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung, concluded on October 18 after working for seven days.

A communiqué issued at the end of the session said the committee held that in 2012, the government achieved positive results such as reining in inflation, stablising the macro economy and exchange rates, increasing foreign currency reserve and export revenue, as well as ensuring social welfare and political stability.

The committee agreed on the government’s socio-economic development targets for 2013, including the strengthening of the micro economic stability, keeping the inflation lower and boosting growth higher than those of 2012.

It approved draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution, the communiqué said.
The committee gave opinions on three draft laws, including the Capital Law, the amended Cooperatives Law and the Law on amendments and supplements to some articles of the Electricity Law, to be submitted to the NA for approval.

It also adopted a resolution adjusting the programme on law building for this year.

The Committee members also looked into reports of the Chief Judge of the People’s Supreme Court and Head of the People’s Supreme Procuracy on their work in 2012.

Additionally, they basically agreed with a draft resolution on the process, procedures and methods of confidence vote on those elected or approved by the National Assembly and the People’s Councils.

Also at the meeting, the committee scrutinised the Government report on goals, tasks, timeline and detailed resources of projects belonging to the 2011 - 2015 National Target Programmes.-VNA
