Prime Minister of hostSingapore Lee Hsien Loong said ASEAN leaders had adopted documents in line withpriorities of ASEAN this year towards enhancing the bloc’s resilience andinnovation.
At a press conferencefollowing the summit, PM Lee Hsien Loong announced three documents, which are theASEAN Leaders’ Vision for a Resilient and Innovative ASEAN, the ASEAN Leaders’Statement on Cybersecurity Cooperation and the ASEAN Smart Cities Network.
The PM also announcedthe completion of the Model ASEAN Extradition Treaty, the renewedSingapore-ASEAN Youth Fund and the establishment of the ASEANLaw Academy,an annual training programme in Singapore.
He said ASEAN leadershad productive discussion during the summit on regional issues and externalcommitments of the bloc.
The 32nd ASEANSummit and related meetings took place in Singapore, Chair of ASEAN in 2018,from April 25-28.
The ASEAN groups 10countries which are Brunei,Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos,Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines,Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. -VNA
