An earthquake of 6.1 magnitude on the Richter scale struck 44 km northeast of Maluku province’s Airbuaya in Indonesia on February 26, according to the US Geological Survey.

Hanoi (VNA) – An earthquakeof 6.1 magnitude on the Richter scale struck 44 km northeast of Malukuprovince’s Airbuaya in Indonesia on February 26, according to the US Geological Survey.

The Chinese news agency Xinhuareported that the quake occurred at 13:34 (local time) and its epicentre was11.92km deep. There have been no reports of casualties or damage caused by theincident. – VNA
