The second2017 Vietbuild International Exhibition, one of the most prestigious realestate and furnishing fairs in Vietnam, began in Ho Chi Minh City on September27.

The event featured more than 2,500 stallsfrom nearly 900 Vietnamese and foreign enterprises. Highlight products includedrealty services, construction materials, interior and exterior decorations, andhome vegetable farming model.

Bui Pham Khanh, Deputy Minister ofConstruction, said the domestic property market has recorded stable growth inthe first nine months of 2017, with increasing demand for social housingnoticed.

In that context, the expo offers informationand potentials products for investors and consumers to gain better insight andaccess to the market. Through seminars and programmes, the event is also aplace for new partnerships to be formed.-VNA

Taxes on real estate based on time property is held not feasible: Justice Ministry

In their latest draft of a proposal to establish a new Law on Personal Income, to replace the current one, the MoF has proposed the Government impose taxes on income from real estate transactions based on the period of ownership – or holding period – which is the time between when an investor buys and sells a land or property.

Ministry proposes developing green e-commerce law

The MoIT's draft proposal to develop the Law on E-commerce will be included in the National Assembly's law and ordinance development programme in 2025 and will be presented to the NA for consideration and comments in October 2025, before being approved at a NA meeting in May 2026.
