Meanwhile, Le Dinh Hung, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Federation of Labour, said Hanoi’strade unions at all levels should diversify communication methods to raiseawareness of labour safety and hygiene among workers and employers.
Hung said thatcompetitions on labour safety and hygiene regulations should be organised whileinspection of law enforcement at occupational accident-prone businesses must becarried out.
In the green-clean-nice emulation movement, Hanoi city set up a network of over34,000 hygienists to assure labour safety and hygiene in 1,980 enterprises.They have responsibility for recommending solutions to improve workingconditions and guarantee rights for workers.
Statistics from the Hanoi Federation of Labour, Hanoi is among localities with thehighest number of occupational accidents. There were 225 work-related accidentsin the city last year, killing 49 people and injuring 202 others.-VNA
