Hanoi (VNA) – Numerous activities are being held across the country to mark the 73rd anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22).
The events also aim to celebrate the 28th anniversary of All People’s Defence Festival Day (December 22), the 45th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu in the Air Victory, and 50 years of the Mau Than Offensive in Spring 1968.
The General Political Department under the Defence Ministry held an art performance on December 19 in Hanoi with the participation of military artists.
The show featured songs, dances and a traditional opera play praising the country and soldiers.
The same day, another art performance highlighting the country’s sea and island was held in Hanoi by the Ministry of Information and Communication, General Political Department of the People's Army and the Voice of Vietnam
The event aims to honour generations of officers, soldiers, and residents who live and work in coastal areas and on islands, who have overcome hardship and challenges to safeguard the country’s sea and islands.
Meanwhile, over 200 photos and 400 books on the formation and development of the Vietnam People’s Army over the past 73 years are on display at an exhibition that opened the in the northern port city of Hai Phong on December 19.
More than 100 photos, documents and objects highlighting achievements of Hanoi and Hai Phong people during the Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the Air campaign are also exhibited in the city. The exhibition runs until December 25.-VNA
