A number of activities are taking place in China’s Guangxi province as part of the Vietnam-China people’s friendship festival and a ‘red’ tourism route following the past journey of President Ho Chi Minh in China, contributing significantly to enhancing friendship between the two nations.
On May 21, a friendship exchange between Chinese and Vietnamese teenagers was held in the province’s Chong Zuo city.
Vice Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Feng Xuejun spoke highly of the future role of teenagers in promoting the bilateral traditional friendship.
On the same day, Feng had talks with the President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations, Vu Xuan Hong, during which he suggested both sides strengthen exchanges, develop neighbourship and boost cooperation in border transport infrastructure building, education and culture.
Hong, in turn, affirmed that promoting the tradition of friendship and solidarity creates the foundation and driving force for the all-round Vietnam-China relations development.
He recalled the revolutionary journey of the late President Ho Chi Minh in China and Chong Zuo city, noting that every activity he made there was closely associated with important events of the Vietnamese revolution and marked the close ties between the two countries.
Earlier on May 20, a President Ho Chi Minh memorial house was inaugurated in Guangxi’s Jingxi district. It is home to nearly 100 photos and items featuring the President’s and other Vietnamese revolutionists’ activities in the district and along the shared border.
The Vietnamese delegation is scheduled to attend an inaugural ceremony of the Ho Chi Minh Exhibition House in Long Zhou, Chong Zuo city to wrap up the Vietnam-China people’s friendship festival and the red tourism named “In the Footprints of Uncle Ho” in Guangxi province from May 17-22.
All these events aim to mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China and the 125th birth anniversary of the late President Ho Chi Minh.-VNA
